"Josh and his crew did an excellent job of installing our sprinkler system in the berm beds and the lawn area around our swimming pool. They were prompt, professional and detail-oriented. Their installation, cleanup and follow-up service has exceeded our expectations. We plan to use Thirsty Turf on future home projects and we have already recommended them to neighbors and friends."

Choosing The Right Contractor

Thirsty Turf Irrigation knows that choosing a contractor can be a difficult decision. You want to be sure your property investment is protected. The tips below can guide you towards making the best choice.

Hire a Certified Contractor

  • Certification is an investment the contractor makes in his/her business and in the industry. True professionals make a commitment to uphold the standards of certification.

Expect a comprehensive design layout

  • Did the contractor walk your property and examine it in detail? Does the plan take into account wind, soil types, water sources and pressures, existing and proposed landscaping and plantings?

Demand a list of quality parts

  • The best contractors recommend the best parts. Your system should have parts with factory warranties of 2 – 5 years.

Be wary of the lowest bidder

  • The easiest ways to cut costs are the most detrimental to your system. The cheapest bidders are usually not certified or insured; can recommend less heads, leaving you with more dry spots; fail to include correct plumbing fixtures; and mismatch heads of different precipitation rates. If a bid is substantially lower than all the rest, ask questions!

Request references

  • Any reputable contractor will gladly provide references. Verify your prospective contractors’ years in business with the Better Business Bureau.

Check warranties and maintenance

  • Your contractor should provide you with a written warranty for all products used and an annual maintenance fee.
